Ubisoft announces shutdown of Rainbow Six Mobile seven months after global launch "While we are proud of what this team and community have built together, our team will move on to other long-term strategic projects," says developer Rainbow Six Mobile is shutting down less than a year after its global launch. The free-to-play tactical shooter will remain available to play until January 15, 2027. Creative director Justin Swan previously said Rainbow Six Mobile was designed to "evolve very much into its own thing" and to let players experience "the game in short, accessible bursts, while also enabling millions of new players to get the Rainbow Six experience." Last month, Ubisoft announced that its Creative House 2 business unit, which houses Tom Clancy's The Division, Ghost Recon, and Splinter Cell, will be known as Massive Entertainment. Rainbow Six operates under Vantage Studios, a joint venture with Tencent (which has a 25% stake), alongside Assassin's Creed and Far Cry.
