Patterson is one of the world’s bestselling authors and is best known for creating thriller series including Alex Cross and the Women’s Murder Club. Instead of contestants taking part in one of Jimmy Donaldson’s real-world challenges, the novel follows a deadly global competition where 100 players compete for a $1 billion prize and the chance to save humanity.
