Riot Games is ending active development on 2XKO less than a year after the fighting game’s console launch, though the game itself isn’t going anywhere yet. The news comes after 2XKO launched on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on January 20, 2026, and after a rocky launch, Riot laid off roughly 80 staff, about half the development team just three weeks later. What happens to 2XKO now According to Riot’s official blog, active development of 2XKO will wrap at the end of 2026, with a final major content patch landing in October and one last bug fix following in December. Avatar and player profile items become unlockable with in-game credits starting in September, while most other cosmetics get bundled into a new $39.99 Ultimate Bundle players will need to buy separately.
