The Mass Effect video game franchise may have come to an end with the shocking demise of BioWare, but IGN can exclusively reveal that its future on the small screen remains possible. Sources inside Prime Video have confirmed that the Mass Effect television series remains in development at Amazon MGM Studios. As of August 2025, Doug Jung (Mindhunter, Star Trek Beyond) was serving as showrunner with Daniel Casey (Fast & Furious 9) writing the series. The production team also included Jessica Jones executive producer Karim Zreik, BioWare's Mass Effect boss Mike Gamble, and former Marvel Studios boss Ari Arad.
