Former Twitch exec calls secrecy over Dr Disrespect’s ban a “big mistake”

Former Twitch director Marcus ‘djWheat’ Graham has criticized the platform’s lack of transparency around major bans, saying even employees were often left without answers. Dr Disrespect’s permanent Twitch ban in June 2020 sparked years of speculation, with the platform declining to publicly explain what prompted the decision. In June 2024, Guy ‘Dr Disrespect’ Beahm admitted to messaging a minor in 2017, confirming the conversations led to his removal. Using a workforce of 500 employees as an example, Graham estimated that only around 10 to 15 people would be involved in those conversations.
