Blizzard has officially announced a new StarCraft game during BlizzCon 2026, marking the franchise’s long-awaited return. Over 10 years after StarCraft 2’s final Expansion, Legacy of the Void, Blizzard is finally returning to its beloved space opera franchise. Only this time, it’s not an RTS. Instead, it’s been described as an “open-world shooter.” The project, which had been teased and rumored ahead of BlizzCon, is simply titled StarCraft and is set to arrive in 2030.
