Following a report that Xbox secured exclusive streaming rights to Grand Theft Auto 6, possibly letting PC players stream it without owning a console, Xbox has clarified that this isn’t the case. The Verge’s Tom Warren reported on October 6 that Xbox CEO Asha Sharma told employees that Microsoft plans to do something “no other platform holder is doing” around GTA 6, which sources said is Xbox obtaining exclusive streaming rights to the game. Warren speculated that this deal would also allow PC players to play GTA 6 without owning an Xbox Series X|S or PS5, streaming it through the Xbox Cloud Gaming Service instead. There’s no official word on when Grand Theft Auto 6 might arrive on PC, but if it follows the trend set by GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, don’t expect it any earlier than November 2027.
