Wi-Fi 8 is upon us, so here are two routers we saw at Computex that should be hitting the shops soon Unsurprisingly, Asus ROG is launching its Wi-Fi 8 routers with an extreme gaming monster. Last week at IFA 2026 TP-Link announced two new Wi-Fi 8 routers—the Archer 9 Ultra and the Deco 8 Ultra—though the actual price and release date aren’t yet known, other than availability being later this year. While TP-Link claimed these are the first Wi-Fi 8 routers to be revealed, this isn't quite the case: Asus showed off its Wi-Fi 8 ROG Rapture GT-BN98 at Computex in June, and we were there having a proper gawk. Compared to Wi-Fi 7, the new Wi-Fi 8 standard is far from being a premium speed boost for the sake of it like past Wi-Fi iterations, and is more of a user experience enhancement that addresses some of the issues that can hamper Wi-Fi 7 and its predecessors in the real-world.
