Gen Con 2026 in Indianapolis was disrupted on August 1 after heavy rainfall caused the roof of the Indiana Convention Center to leak heavily onto the convention floor. A tornado warning shortly after forced attendees to shelter in place. Gen Con, the largest tabletop gaming convention in North America drawing tens of thousands of attendees each year for board games, tabletop RPGs and card games, saw the 54-year-old venue’s roof begin leaking as heavy rain hit the city throughout the day. Flooding first broke out in Hall B, with a heavy stream of water pouring for around 20 minutes before spreading to multiple areas of the building.
