Microsoft’s next-generation Xbox console could cost as much as $1,800 when it launches, according to a new report, putting Project Helix far above today’s already expensive consoles. Fortune tech correspondent Sebastian Herrera reports that Xbox has internally projected a consumer price of between $1,200 and $1,800 for the next-generation hardware. Next-gen Xbox could cost more than twice the Series X Microsoft’s current Xbox Series X already costs $799.99 in the US following a major price increase in August. The company raised 512GB models by $100 and 1TB models by $150, while discontinuing the 2TB version.
