Now, the Philippines has a reputation for its thriving esports scene , and the output of quality Filipino-made games is gradually rising. To observe Filipino American History Month, we’re looking at several recent games made in the Philippines, many of which include distinctly Filipino cultural elements showcased for players around the world.
A new trailer for Suikoden: The Anime appeared confirming the release date for the series in Japan. It will start airing on October 3, 2026. You can check out the new Suikoden: The Anime trailer here: Another trailer for the anime appeared back in July 2026 and featured the opening theme song “Kanashimi Sae Otonabite” (Even Sadness Can Mature) by amazarashi. The first two games in the Suikoden series can be played as part of the Suikoden I and II HD Remaster, which is available on Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
During the September 2026 State of Play, Konami announced a new action-RPG called Rhapsody in Scarlet. A first trailer appeared during the first part of the showcase, and more details were promised for the following Japan segment. It’s possible we could see it at the Press Start presentation as well. That’s also currently in development, with more details promised during Press Start at 8am PT/11am ET on September 3, 2026.
