Huge updates for Diablo 1: Resurrected, Diablo: Immortal, and Diablo 4 have been rolling out this year in celebration of the series' 30th anniversary, but the absence of Diablo 3 content has been conspicuous—especially considering that Blizzard has lauded the game's staying power with millions of players.

Solomon is a floating chess grandmaster added in Deadlock’s City Never Sleeps update, one of six new heroes being released one at a time through player votes. The list spans more than 170 years of chess history, from the 1851 “Immortal Game” between Adolf Anderssen and Lionel Kieseritzky to Game 6 of Magnus Carlsen and Viswanathan Anand’s 2014 World Championship match. With 10 pieces, the board shows a 2024 game played by Levy Rozman, better known as GothamChess, while a full board of 32 shows the infamous double Bongcloud opening played by Carlsen and Hikaru Nakamura in 2021.

Come September, you won't need a single Total War: Warhammer game to play its colossal, trilogy-spanning Immortal Empires campaign All you need is one of the Lords of the End Times characters. Yesterday we finally got to see a full reveal for everything arriving in Total War: Warhammer 3's Lords of the End Times expansion and it's a whole heap of content. You used to have to own all three Total War: Warhammer games, then it was just Total War: Warhammer 3, and from September, it'll just be any individual Lords of the End Times character, meaning you'll be able to unlock Immortal Empires for about $9 (£7.49) in perpetuity. You can currently buy Total War: Warhammer 3 for $9 in the 10th anniversary sale, but with this change in September, it'll actually be better content value to buy Nagash, Thanquol, Todbringer, or the Glottkin for the same price.
