Xbox leader Asha Sharma says there's "more demand than consoles available" as Xbox hardware sales dip by 14% "We're making progress, with a lot more work ahead." Xbox leader Asha Sharma has claimed there's "more demand than consoles available" when it comes to Xbox, and that console sales "remain constrained by supply". She was speaking after Microsoft announced its quarterly financial results yesterday, in which Xbox revenue declined two percent year on year. The financials also revealed a drop in Xbox hardware sales, which are down 14 percent year-on-year, driven by a "lower volume of consoles sold". Inside Buckshot Roulette developer Mike Klubnika's terrifically nasty horror universe of post-Soviet malaise Atrocity exhibition. In Mike Klubnika's growing oeuvre of brilliantly deplorable games, the same elements tend to recur. Across three excellent games in almost as many years - 2023's Buckshot Roulette, 2025's S.p.l.i.t, and 2026's Machine Party - Klubnika has remixed each of these elements with design verve and stylistic aplomb. Klubnika's desktop PC, then, was both a creative instrument and portal into exotic worlds and taboo-feeling media: Klubnika remembers pirating the edgy top-down shooter Hotline Miami when he was 10 or 11 years old before discovering the music of Aphex Twin in one particularly strange level of the Half-Life multiplayer mod Sven Co-op.

'I'm forever grateful to BioWare': 16 game developers share the moment a BioWare game inspired them to join the industry BioWare was the catalyst for a generation of game development careers. When my party approached Redcliffe Village in Dragon Age: Origins, my reluctant sidekick Alistair stopped the party for a big confession about a secret he'd been keeping from me. I finally realized how massive and complex the story was, how many contingencies had been planned, written, and voice acted. This is a standalone review that covers only Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4's DMZ mode. You can find our campaign review here, with multiplayer impressions to follow after launch. Extraction shooters feel a little like a modern trend, with some heavy hitters like Marathon and Arc Raiders shaking the table within the last year or so, but they’ve been a growing experiment in the shooter space for the past decade or so. Call of Duty dabbled in it with the original DMZ back in 2022 (you could argue they were late to the party then), and its return in 2026 is timely.
BioWare is dead, and my feelings are a strange cocktail of anger, sadness, and Jack’s Complete Lack of Surprise. The legendary RPG studio was bought by a private investment group earlier this year, and history shows that venture capital frequently kills what it touches, extracting whatever value out of it that it can before moving onto the next victim. Everyone knows Baldur’s Gate now on account of Larian Studios’ Game of the Year-winning, 10 out of 10 Baldur’s Gate 3 from 2023, but what younger gamers might not know is that the first two Baldur’s Gate RPGs were built by BioWare in the late ‘90s. It was the runner-up for IGN’s Best Role-Playing Game of 2002, finishing behind just one game: a little project you might have heard of called The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind.
It's always interesting to see how a board game is able to adapt a video game. What about the game is able to be improved by removing the limits of what's on the screen, and what gets left behind as a lot of automation is taken out of the mix? Getting my hands on Fibbage, I was interested to see just how well the experience would translate, or how similar it might end up to other 'fill in the blank' style games like Cards Against Humanity or Apples to Apples. Low Time To Play, Quick Time To Laughs For a party game, Fibbage absolutely hits the ability to break it out at a table where no one knows how to play it, and you can be up and running in 2-5 minutes.

Obviously, it's wish fulfillment having the likes of Final Fantasy 7's Cloud fighting alongside Final Fantasy 13's Lightning or Final Fantasy 14's Y'shtola, though they are more comparable to the skill-wielding summons from the likes of Persona 5 than true party members.

With the recently released Control Resonant, Remedy Entertainment returns to its weird Control universe of teleporting toy ducks, nightmarish creatures, and explosive action, all of which is grounded by a deeply personal central story. But when considering its predecessor, Control, I was struck by just how much this sequel not only differs from the first game, but deliberately inverts or twists what players previously experienced--much as the central Big Bad does to the entire borough of Manhattan. Control Resonant begins with our protagonist Dylan, barefoot and in dire need of a shave, awakening from a seven-year coma. With his sister--the series' former main character, Jesse Faden--missing and Control's Oldest House now a crime scene of corpses, Dylan finally leaves the building he’s been imprisoned in for over two decades.

In 2019, Infinity Ward rebooted Call of Duty's Modern Warfare series, delivering a gritty and polished campaign featuring Captain Price and the assembly of the iconic Task Force 141. Despite the strong start, the series' sequels stumbled a bit, with Modern Warfare 3 in particular standing out as having a weak story and open-world missions that missed the mark. But with Modern Warfare 4, Infinity Ward returns the series' campaign to strength with a satisfying narrative and well-crafted missions for an epic conclusion to the rebooted series. Modern Warfare 4 Modern Warfare 4 also keeps the optional dialogue prompts introduced in Modern Warfare 2, which allow you to ask your fellow soldiers questions or make small talk.
House House will not release Big Walk on Xbox in support of pro-Palestinian BDS campaign "We would love for people to be able to play the game on Xbox, but not until Microsoft and/or Xbox have been removed as BDS boycott targets" Melbourne-based developer House House will not release its co-op hit Big Walk on Xbox, citing support for the Palestinian-led Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) campaign. "We have made the decision not to release Big Walk on Xbox, in accordance with the Palestinian-led BDS movement's call to boycott Microsoft, and their designation of Microsoft Games (and Xbox) as a priority boycott target," the developer wrote in a statement. Dan Dilorio, developer of Luck be a Landlord, asked players not to purchase the game on Xbox and announced plans to donate $10,000 to The Palestine Children's Relief Fund "to (hopefully) offset the revenue the game has generated for Microsoft." Speculative Agency, developer of All Will Rise, expressed interest in joining the No Games for Genocide campaign, which would require returning some Microsoft funding received through "a developer acceleration programme deal." "We would have to ask Microsoft to let us break our contract and somehow make up the shortfall of funds at a time where funding is extremely difficult to come by in the industry," it said in a statement shared with PC Gamer. The BDS movement started in April 2025 and targeted Microsoft to "end its complicity in Israel's genocide, occupation, and apartheid against Palestinians." After the announcement, over 2,000 Microsoft workers signed the No Azure for Apartheid petition, which demanded the company conduct "a third-party independent audit of our contract, services and product to make sure they are not involved in any human rights violation, be it in Gaza, or elsewhere." In May 2025, Microsoft conducted an internal review.
Back in 2019, author Margaret Stohl was handed a manuscript written by Jason Jones, who’s best known as the co-creator of sci-fi gaming series Halo and Destiny. The two had worked together at Bungie, and Jones wanted Stohl’s opinion on a book he was writing about AI taking over the world. It was an oral history of the fictional events, with around 100 characters spread across 40 countries, all detailing the AI uprising from their own perspectives.
