I've spent years judging games on things like combat, story, graphics, or how satisfying their open worlds are. But something occurred to me recently--I've not put enough thought into where exactly I would live if I had to move into one of these games. Sure, legendary weapons are nice, and okay, fine, maybe I should be concerned about the fate of the world. The ending of Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil movie has proven to be a divisive one, and fans are at odds as to whether or not it was a “good” conclusion to the film’s ultimately tragic story. Major spoilers for Resident Evil (2026) below. that was forced, im sorry, i hated it — 𝐧𝐚𝐯𝐢, yotra (@flxpjack) September 18, 2026 Bro I hate it so much, the first half was some of the most effective horror I’ve ever seen and i literally wouldn’t have complained if they went with the obvious ending but they made it ridiculous for some reason and took away from the rest of the movie unfortunately — Griffin (@GriffinResident) September 18, 2026 The ending was so abrupt. — 🎃ShinKagato🎃 (@ShinKagato) September 21, 2026 Bryan wasn’t really the hero of the story, he was basically the guy whose whole night showed us how the next Resident Evil monster was created — ꪜ𝖎𝔃𝔃𝔂 ✞ (@sntvizzy) September 21, 2026 Cregger’s ending even stunned lead actor Austin Abrams, who called it “crazy and shocking” when he first read the script.
The Witcher 3 'is not untouchable,' story director says of the upcoming expansion and remaster: 'I still find some places that I think maybe nowadays, I would do it differently' CD Projekt is remastering its RPG masterpiece and rolling out a new expansion in 2027, and that means changes are coming. But it's unquestionably one of the greatest RPGs of all time, a game that arrived with a 92% review score and somehow got better through years of fixes, upgrades, and expansions, the last of which provided a perfectly satisfying conclusion to the epic of Geralt (and an even higher review score). In his review for that brilliant denouement, former PC Gamer editor Tom Senior committed himself: "If one of these expansions came out every year I'd still be playing The Witcher 3 in 2020." Good news for Tom, then, because a surprise third expansion, Songs of the Past, is on the way in 2027, and a full remaster of the base game and first two expansions is set to drop ahead of that—later this month, in fact. A farmer lost nearly 25 acres of his own crops after following weed-control advice given to him by an AI tool. The 67-year-old had reportedly been using the unnamed AI app for around a year and had gradually come to rely on its answers. But when he turned to it for help protecting his latest crop of sesame plants from weeds and pests, the advice had disastrous consequences. Clair Obscur developers see Sony's no-disk announcement as 'a sad decision', because they 'like to go outside, buy a game, and come back home with it' "I think it's part of the beauty of art too—that it's something tangible that you can touch." Sony won't be producing game disks anymore—a decision that's been met industry-wide with a mixture of frustration and ambivalence, depending on which side of the fence you fall on. Personally, I don't think a videogame company or distribution platform having final say over whether you concretely own something is healthy, even if I am admittedly arm-deep in Steam purchases. It's also something that makes the creators of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 a little melancholy, per a recent interview with Automaton: "Personally, I find it super sad because I really like video game stores," says CEO and Creative Director of Sandfall Interactive Guillaume Broche. In a statement to The Verge, Xbox technology chief Scott Van Vliet says that while physical game discs are subject to licensing inspections, that shouldn’t have prevented them from working during this week’s outage, or while consoles are offline. Xbox outage shouldn’t have affected games on disc, Microsoft confirms Xbox discs are subject to ‘entitlement checks,’ but they should still be playable offline. “We’re looking into reports that some players were unable to access games using discs as expected during the service interruption.

Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown has an upgraded Steam demo ahead of release, with a teaser of new voice-overs and the proper music. I'm really happy to see they've properly listened to all the feedback from the earlier demo, because the atmosphere of it was really lacking but everything else seemed like it would make a really fantastic game for Star Trek fans to live out of a bit of fantasy changing all the decisions the Voyager crew had to make. Their team announced earlier this week that some voice-over would be in the game, and with returning actors from the original TV series: Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown features fully voiced logs by Tuvok and Tom Paris at the beginning of each sector.
