Developer and publisher Laps Games has announced the Early Access release date for Valorborn, a sandbox RPG in which the world continues "with or without the player". Valorborn will be arriving in Early Access on April 15th, and if you're a fan of systems-driven RPGs like Kingdom Come: Deliverance or even the Stalker series, then it sounds as though Valorborn will be right up your alley. Laps Games describes Valorborn's world as one "built around systemic simulation", so you can expect villages to continue about their business even when you're not around, as well as faction power struggles and "dangers moving across the land whether [you] intervene or not". Laps Games also says that Valorborn's world will be fully realized, which means that "every building, cave, and point of interest is fully enterable" and there will be "no fake doors or decorative entrances".
How recent laws impact game design, from in-game chat to notifications How game developers can stay on the right side of current and upcoming legislation affecting the industry 2026 is already proving to be the year when the reality of video game regulation hits home for the industry. Games studios are suddenly confronting a host of new and impending regulations, and it can feel an impossible task to sift through the alphabetti spaghetti of laws, rules and guidelines (OSA, DMCCA, DFA, DSA, AI Act, CPC…) in order to know what this actually means for the day-to-day practicalities of developing and releasing games. Kabam, Nexters and My.Games recently fell afoul of this in the UK and Netherlands with Marvel Contest of Champions, Hero Wars: Alliance RPG and Rush Royale: Tower Defense TD. 2025's Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 was a big enough stumble to push Xbox-owned Activision to reconsider its approach to yearly CoD entries moving forward. Mind you, the game is still topping charts , but after a poor critical reception and lukewarm player sentiment, things are being re-examined. Could a standalone, fully-fledged Zombies entry spice things up? Maybe, but it appears that's not on the table...
GamesRadar+ Verdict Funny in bursts, regularly creative, yet held back by distinctly average combat and poor exploration elements. High on Life 2 is a surreal trip well worth taking, although you'll need to adjust your expectations accordingly. Pros - + Bright, engrossing world - + Very funny (sometimes) - + Pleasingly unpredictable Cons - - So-so combat - - Dodgy skateboarding implementation - - The crudest humor lacks confidence Why you can trust GamesRadar+ High on Life 2 is many things. THQ Nordic have just revealed that the Gothic 1 Remake is now set for release on June 5th. Bringing the original game from 2001 up to more modern standards in terms of gameplay and graphics. Last edited by such on 12 Feb 2026 at 3:48 pm UTC Which is funny because nowadays, the Gothic games have somewhat of a reputation for being difficult, partly due to weird controls and partly due to mercilessly difficult fights when you have a character with no learned skills and no equipment. Last edited by LungDrago on 13 Feb 2026 at 9:42 am UTC Then we got Risen 1 & 2 which were quite good as well, but again Risen-3 was a bit of a flop!
After cutting half of 2XKO's team less than 30 days from launch, I have to ask: how can any of us get behind a new Riot game ever again? Riot Games is "downsizing" a substantial number of developers from the team that has been working on 2XKO, the fighting game that only launched less than a month ago. Roughly 80 staff will be either transferred to other teams at Riot, or laid off with six months' severance pay. In a statement posted on the Riot Games website, 2XKO executive producer Tom Cannon broke the news to the public.
You can expect to see more of Ron Perlman in Fallout Season 3, as showrunners tease more conflicts and factions The larger fights. One of Fallout Season 2's biggest shockers was having Wasteland veteran Ron Perlman (who's done voice acting for the entire game series) show up in a quick cameo role as a mysterious CGI'd super mutant. Spoilers for Fallout's Season 2 finale ahead. It might be a while before he shows up again though, as those conflicts "maybe aren't in the region of the Wasteland where our characters currently are." Perlman's green-skinned guy has been seen helping The Ghoul near New Vegas, however, so we'd be shocked if he is nowhere to be seen in Season 3 even if the larger war the showrunners are hinting at isn't on the immediate horizon.

Specialist media lawyer outlines why UK Court of Appeals' judgment on RuneScape's Gold theft is so "significant for the games industry" UK Court of Appeal has ruled the theft of RuneScape Gold can be classed as criminal theft after all The UK Court of Appeal has ruled that unauthorized removal of RuneScape's in-game currency can be classed as criminal theft. Initially, the defence of Andrew Lakeman - a former Jagex content developer who allegedly accessed player accounts either by "hacking and/or using credentials of members of the account recovery team" and stole Gold, which he later sold for Bitcoin - had successfully convinced the court that, as in-game currency didn't meet the definition of what was stealable property under the UK's Theft Act, he consequently couldn't be prosecuted for doing so. Critically, at the time, the original judge also agreed with the defence that RuneScape's Gold wasn't 'rivalrous,' but now, at the Court of Appeal, this interpretation has been overturned. As Sheridans' Anna Poulter-Jones explains to GamesIndustry.biz, 'rivalrous' is a term which essentially means if one person takes or spends something, the original owner loses it.

Battlefield Labs is coming back for a short session to test out next week's Battlefield 6 update, and you can expect more tests in the future, too Battlefield Labs is evolving, as it reopens its doors for its next - unusual - session. Battlefield Studios is seemingly trying something different with Battlefield 6’s next patch, which everyone assumed would be a standard, mid-season update not intended to change the game significantly. However, it appears that it may bring more to the game than we realised, enough that the developer sees it as an excuse to bring back the pre-launch Battlefield Labs testing initiative. The December 9 patch kicks off the final phase of the game’s first season, which is set to take the game through the holidays and into the new year.
Battlefield 6 patch finally ends the menace of the Lock-Guided Missile, shuts down the Recon Drone Sledgehammer exploit and more Today's Battlefield 6 patch is laser-focused on taking care of some of the more infuriating bugs while also taking out a couple of exploits. The next Battlefield 6 update is here. Having gone live just moments ago, update 1.1.1.5 is something of a midseason update, bringing a few quality of life tweaks to the game alongside some key fixes for a few of the issues that cropped up since the launch of Season 1 in late October. Patch 1.1.1.5 is fairly limited in scope.
Battlefield 6’s Season 1 patch will address weapon bloom, tweak movement, improve visibility, and change (some of) those miserable challenges The first major update for Battlefield 6 is almost ready. When it arrives this week, it's going to address a number of issues the game has been having. The Battlefield 6 honeymoon phase is nearing its end. Unfortunately, it’s going to take time for us to see them in-game, as they’re going to be rolling out over “at least two updates.” The developers’ heads are in the right place, at least, with plans to reduce the required kills for Assault Class Assignment 1 to 3 (down from 30), and the Engineer Expert 3’s vehicle repair goal to 1,000 from 6,000.
