The three key attachments here are the Bruen 22-LPW Bright Hip Laser, the GW Domi-9 Vertical Short Grip, and the 60-Round Drum mag. director Masahiro Sakurai thinks gen-AI will cause a surge of unoriginal games, but says human creativity can't be replicated It's-a-me, Dario. Masahiro Sakurai has spoken about the pitfalls of generative AI use in game development, saying that while he believes the technology will result in a surge of unoriginal video games, human creativity - such as that shown by designers like Ico's Fumito Ueda - can't be replicated. In an interview with Japanese news outlet Denfaminicogamer, Sakurai was asked about his time judging for the Game Designers Awards (a role he recently retired from) and his thoughts on the massive increase of game releases since the awards began. In 2010, 275 games were published on Steam, whereas more than 19,000 released this year.
After a few hours with Yakuza studio's soulful Stranger Than Heaven, I'm smitten, but I suspect it'll be a divisive game Opening act. Who doesn't love a big swing, a bold new direction, especially when so many video game publishers seem increasingly determined to walk the safest route? While Stranger Than Heaven might look familiar at first glance - particularly if you're a fan of Like a Dragon developer RGG's other third-person action games - it differs where it counts. Read this next - Sega and Netflix partner for a "cute yet cool" Sonic TV Show, a Crazy Taxi film, and a "badass action" Stranger Than Heaven adaptation - Yakuza and Like a Dragon developer RGG Studio finally gives Stranger Than Heaven a release window - Stranger Than Heaven's new combat system sounds pretty complicated, but looks absolutely amazing
Creative director Mod Ryan announced that RuneScape Reignited, a new game mode designed for both old and seasoned players to start fresh, has been canceled less than two weeks after it was first announced. The news was published on October 15 in the form of an official YouTube video and blog post, where Mod Ryan revealed that Jagex’s choice to cancel Reignited was in direct response to player feedback. “We received a ton of different perspectives from all of you, and we truly appreciate everyone sharing their views. Our goal is to see RuneScape grow again, with returning players coming back and new players joining, but never at the expense of our existing community.” That being said, that doesn’t mean RuneScape is now without any exciting developments for new players who are looking to finally try it out for themselves; starting December 2, RuneScape will hold a 10-day free trial that will let new characters — or any character that, by that date, hasn’t been in membership since June 2 — access RuneScape Members worlds and content until December 12.

Not wanting a repeat of EOC, but still very much wanting to grow the RuneScape audience and attract new players in the way that Reignited might have, Mod Ryan says, "I truly believe that December remains a fantastic time to start or continue your journey in RuneScape." "So we're still going to open the gates on December 2nd with a 10 day free trial that runs for 10 days between December 2nd and December 12th," he adds. "New characters, or any character that on December 2nd has not been in membership since the 2nd of June, will be able to freely access RuneScape Members worlds and content during the 10 day period." The rest of the RuneScape 2027 roadmap, which Mod Ryan worries was "overshadowed" by Reignited blowback, remains untouched.
Xbox Ally X 20 vs Xbox Ally X: A wickedly bright OLED screen and frosty temps make for a begrudgingly attractive upgrade for the Asus handheld All that glitters might actually be gold. So, you've seen the Asus ROG Xbox Ally X20 in all its black and gold glory and wondered if it's worth paying $300 more for it. In my testing, I got lower Metro performance and worse 1% lows in F1 25, but better performance in Horizon Zero Dawn, Cyberpunk 2077 and 3DMark, so the framerate differences overall just about balance out. Asus ROG Xbox Ally X20 vs Asus ROG Xbox Ally X: Battery life Gaming battery life Recorded using PCMark 10's gaming battery life test (25 W) Battery life | PCMark 10 In stress testing gaming benchmarks, the X20 managed 2 hours and 9 minutes in the 25 W gaming mode, and almost 3 hours in the 17 W mode.

2026's OLED monitors can nearly recreate the sublime clarity of a '90s CRT, but Windows will have to change before we can achieve true nirvana All you need is a ridiculously fast monitor and endless patience for tinkering to get a glimpse of how good retro games looked in motion back in the '90s. The 2007 season finale of TV phenom Lost ended with an all-timer twist: What had seemed like the show's routine flashback storyline, filling in the events that preceded its characters ending up in island purgatory, was actually a flash forward. Protagonists Jack and Kate were somehow safe in Los Angeles after three seasons of being stuck on the mysterious island. Not long before that episode aired I'd gleefully dropped $1,000 on my first HD display, a 26-inch 1366x768 Samsung LCD that served as my college dorm TV and doubled as my computer monitor.
A viral, fan-made Fallout game that used Claude AI to take the post-apocalyptic RPG series to New York is no more, following an apparent cease-and-desist notice from Bethesda's parent company ZeniMax. Earlier this week, an AI enthusiast took to the global town square to unveil Fallout: New York. Using Claude Opus 5.5, the browser game featured 117 unique locations, 112 characters, 46 weapons, and 0 audio files, but, well, every sound was made using code, so that was fine. At the time of writing, the video attached to the tweet has been viewed 3.5 million times, though the reaction isn't entirely universal.
Diablo 4 director Brent Gibson is telling fans not to worry about the game after Diablo 5’s announcement sparked concerns about the former title’s lifespan. Diablo 5’s reveal at Blizzcon 2026 left fans equal parts excited and worried. Of course, players were pumped for a new Diablo game — but with Diablo 4 having just launched in 2023, the reveal of a new game so soon felt like a death knell for the one they were still playing. We were just announcing earlier today, coming to Diablo 4, the Amazon, the Season of Hell's legacy, Diablo 4 is coming to Switch 2, and there will continue to be ongoing support for Diablo 4.
It's been nearly two months since Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls launched on PlayStation 5 and PC, bringing with it an all-new approach to the tag-team fighting game format from a studio who'd never tried it before. Tokon's launch was a tale of two formats; while the game enjoyed critical success, and PS5 players were thrilled, PC players were met with multiple performance issues that marred the experience. However, since that uneven launch, the team at Arc System Works has issued multiple updates for both platforms, and the first downloadable character, Phoenix Cyclops, looms on the horizon as a Fall 2026 release. To learn more, GameSpot spoke with two members of Arc System Works, producer Takeshi Yamanaka and game director Kazutoshi Sekine, as well as Marvel senior product development manager Michael Francisco, about Tokon's early troubles on PC, the challenges of maintaining balance throughout development and beyond, and how both Marvel and Arc System Works plan to support the game going forward.
Although The Witcher 3 came out over a decade ago now, it still boasts some of the greatest talent the video game industry has known – especially in the writing department. Karolina Stachyra is no exception, having worked at CD Projekt Red as a senior writer on The Witcher 3 from 2012 to 2016. She helped shape the "main storyline," as her LinkedIn profile highlights, but she also designed some of its greatest questlines – including what might just stand as the greatest of all: Bloody Baron. Before that, CD Projekt Red welcomed other Warhorse Studios veterans, an ex-Baldur's Gate 3 dev, a former Mass Effect lead, and more – over 220 new developers, in fact.
Guess who patented a new system for in-game ads The future's so bright you gotta wear shades. Tom's Hardware and Respawn First recently reported on a fun new patent from those wiz kids at Microsoft, one that would dynamically pause your game to show you advertisements. Here are the big wham lines from the abstract of US 202610260258 A1, "Contextually Aware Management of Interactive Software Application Access:" - "A content management system may suspend a user's interaction with the interactive software application based on the promoted content trigger event." (Emphasis mine) - "A content management system may present the promoted audiovisual content to the user." - "A content management system may establish a credit … the credit delays suspension of the user's interaction." That's the sort of whimsical creativity that made me fall in love with games in the first place. 2026 games: All the upcoming games Best PC games: Our all-time favorites Free PC games: Freebie fest Best FPS games: Finest gunplay Best RPGs: Grand adventures Best co-op games: Better together Keep up to date with the most important stories and the best deals, as picked by the PC Gamer team.
"Crowdfunding is fundamentally a marketing and a community exercise" – What developers need to know about funding a game with Kickstarter in 2026 Industry experts share their advice for running a successful Kickstarter campaign, why studios need to be wary of scammers, and why GIFs are vital to success We might be long past the days of games companies raising eye-watering figures on Kickstarter, but the platform is still a viable way to raise money to fund – at last part of – your game. Research from Ico Partners' Thomas Bidaux shows that in 2025, games companies raised $26 million on Kickstarter – level with 2024's figures, and one of the more successful years since the last big Kickstarter boom in 2015. Last year, 443 video game projects were successfully funded on Kickstarter, a minor reduction (4%) from 2024's figures. 55 game projects raised over $100,000 in 2025, while 11 made over $500,000.

It’s been over a month since Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls released, and its early sales figures and player counts on PC are sparking concern within the fighting game community about its longevity. Arc System Works’ latest tag fighting game has suffered no end of discourse within the FGC; some players love it, while others are severely dissatisfied with its tag system and online matchmaking, and it’s almost impossible to avoid this debate if you’re on fighting game Twitter right now. Data from Steam Charts shows that the title boasts a current active PC player count of 427 players on Steam, with a 24-hour peak of 791 players. That being said, it has generated an estimated $49.7 million in revenue, selling approximately 750,000 copies across both platforms combined.
The Poco F9 Ultra starts at $799 for a 12GB / 256GB configuration, moving up to $949 for 16GB / 512GB and $1,199 for 16GB / 1TB. That's $500 less than the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra at the bottom end of the spec list and $600 less if you're going for the full 1TB. Display The main face is a 6.9-inch AMOLED display running at a blistering 185Hz refresh rate (though the vast majority of titles won't be able to make the most of those speeds), Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support, and a 1,200x2,608 resolution at a 416ppi density. Battery Powering everything is a massive 8,050mAh battery, stomping all over the S26 Ultra's 5,000mAh and topping RedMagic's 7,500mAh on its 11-Series devices.
35 years of speed and counting. As we heard in a recent story, there have been " good times, and there have been bad times " for the blue blur, and right now Sonic the Hedgehog 's future seems rather bright with another live-action movie on the horizon and more video games guaranteed to follow. Of course, a bit like Nintendo and Super Mario , Sega is always working on what's next for Sonic, and in a new interview with Japanese outlet 4Gamer , it seems we might have got the first proper update from the Sonic Team about the next major project. EA Sports FC has often been accused of focusing too much on Ultimate Team, while leaving other modes out in the cold. EA Sports FC 27 bucks that trend, making every mode feel like the star player. When we reviewed EA FC 26, we called it the “best football game in years,” praising the superb gameplay even if there wasn’t much ambition away from the grass. With the follow-up, EA Sports has gone in the opposite direction, playing it safe on the pitch while shaking things up behind the scenes.
