3 months after launch, Riot announces League of Legends Classic will be killed in January: 'most have gone back to other parts of League' New Champions will continue to roll out for now. League of Legends Classic was Riot's attempt to capitalise on nostalgia for vintage-era LoL. It stripped away most of the champions and kits introduced since 2013, reverted to an older version of the Summoner's Rift map, and promised to roll out "new" old Champions at a faster clip than in the olden days. And it's not the end of the line yet: there are at least seven more Champions still to roll out, including Mordekaiser, Yorick, Hecarim and Lucian in the forthcoming 26.21 update, and Vilibear, Urgot and Udyr in future ones.
Since the release of the first game of the trilogy in 2020, I have been heavily invested in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake saga. I've spent over 100 hours between the first two games, Remake and Rebirth, entrenching myself in this remade version of Gaia, re-acquainting myself with Cloud and the gang, and peeling back layer after layer of this reimagined story. Revelation, the upcoming third installment, is a finale 11 years in the making (if you start counting from FF7 Remake's initial E3 2015 reveal trailer), and I went into the latest demo for Revelation ready to learn more about this final chapter. It's been 11 years since we first saw Final Fantasy VII Remake at E3 2015, and six years since we first entered this new remade version of Cloud Strife's adventure.
Key Preview Takeaways: - Previous previews have focused on the open world, but my slice was focused on the more linear, story-intensive sections. - Materia has a new way to level up. - Difficulty was a bit lacking in this demo, but then again it was the first chapter of the game... We’re about six months out from Final Fantasy VII Revelation, and while that doesn’t seem like a huge wait, the anticipation to play the final chapter of the FF7 remake is palpable, especially since the first chapter dropped six(!) years ago now.
Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave is finally here, and a day-one patch has made a crucial addition to the new strategy RPG – you can now use a gacha gun as a weapon. Fortune's Weave's first update adds a number of collab weapons from the series' two mobile games – Kurt's Royal Sword from the Among Us-esque spin-off with evil furries, Fire Emblem Shadows, and a trio from the 2017 gacha game Fire Emblem Heroes. Progress through the story enough, and you can get your hands on Heroes protagonist Alfonse's Chosen Sword, Fjorm's Chosen Lance, and most importantly, the Summoner's Breidablik. If you've not played Fire Emblem Heroes before, the gacha system is rather simple – your self-insert character, the Summoner, has a divine gun they can shoot to summon various Fire Emblem characters out of their individual worlds and timelines and into the mobile game's land of Askr.
In many of the best JRPGs, there's a point in the last third(ish) of the story where everything opens up. You can fully indulge in its systems, characters, and world. You can freely explore the map, complete all the side quests, find the super special ultimate weapons, and challenge every secret boss before saving the world. The Best Real-Time ATB Combat Yet Final Fantasy VII Remake took the Kingdom Hearts combat formula and married it with the stagger mechanic from Final Fantasy XIII, creating wonderfully addictive and constantly engaging system.

League of Legends YouTuber unearths the original investor pitch from when the game was called Onslaught: War of the Immortals Back when the game was seemingly 6v6, Sion had a beard, and the story revolved around "an antichrist of sorts." "Built like a brick wall on roids." That's the passive ability Lee Sin—err, Xizun, the blind monk, used to have in League of Legends, which itself used to be a very different-looking game called Onslaught: War of the Immortals. It certainly looks like a game that was pitched the same year Finger Eleven's "Paralyzer" was a charting single, and now we can take a closer look at it than ever thanks to League 'tuber Necrit and Riot's Paul "Pabro" Bellezza. The full story here is outlined on a video Necrit uploaded last Thursday, but the basic rundown is that he asked to see League at its most primordial and Riot delivered in the form of an ancient investor pitch: a mix of video footage, design documents for a few champions, a lore breakdown, and screenshots. 2026 games: All the upcoming games Best PC games: Our all-time favorites Free PC games: Freebie fest Best FPS games: Finest gunplay Best RPGs: Grand adventures Best co-op games: Better together Keep up to date with the most important stories and the best deals, as picked by the PC Gamer team.
