Mind Zero.

For nearly three weeks, I’ve been testing the limits of Valve’s Steam Frame, the company’s new wearable PC. At $1,059 with 256GB of storage or $1,299 for 1TB, it costs two to three times as much as similar-looking headsets from Meta. Steam Frame The Good - Lightweight and comfortable to wear - Precise wands double as a full gamepad - Plays so many games so many ways - Included 6GHz dongle allows short-range PC streaming even if you have questionable Wi-Fi The Bad - Doesn’t feel like a finished product - Crashes, bugs, other assorted instability and inconsistencies - Not enough performance for many standalone games - Short battery life of one to two hours - Some audible fan noise The Steam Frame is primarily a gaming device. You can effortlessly add color passthrough to the Frame if you want, by the way — Arcturus, which helped build the Frame’s entire vision system, is now selling a perfect-fit 5K60 10-bit HDR stereo camera for $150.
"What's the harm in asking?" – Dlala Studios on taking a big swing to get comedy legend Bob Mortimer for the upcoming game Murals "Honestly, the Bob Mortimer you see on television, he's even a hundred times nicer and funnier than that in person" The name Bob Mortimer might not mean much to those who haven't lived in the UK, but he's a huge deal in the world of British comedy. He's one of the country's top comedians, having starred in the double act Reeves and Mortimer, and he recently won the UK version of Amazon's Last One Laughing game show. He's also – as revealed at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 – a voice performer in the upcoming game Murals from developer Dlala Studios. Mortimer's involvement began when company founder Aj Grand-Scrutton and lead writer Kelsy Abbott wrote a character that was a "rip-off" of the comedian.

However, I decided to give an adapter similar to the versions you see for $13.99 at Amazon a shot, and it got the job done with zero visual nonsense. On that note, you can pick up GTA San Andreas on PS2 for around $20 these days, and if you've not got an old console to play it on, you can grab one for under $80. You can still help the old system feel nice and fresh by learning how to use new controllers with retro consoles, as if you grab an 8Bitdo Retro Receiver for $24.99, you can sync up a DualShock 4 or even the DualSense to your 26-year-old machine.

Nintendo showed roughly 20 minutes of footage from the Switch 2 remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time in the Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct this morning. Producer Eiji Aonuma said this project is largely a faithful remake of the N64 classic, reborn on Switch 2 with modern controls and a strong focus on detail. Here are 40 changes I saw when comparing Ocarina of Time on Switch 2 to the N64 version, from things as large as the art style all the way to small menu changes and UI differences. A Special Edition Console and Controller On October 29, one week before Ocarina of Time's launch on November 5, Nintendo is releasing the first special edition Switch 2 console themed around The Legend of Zelda's 40th anniversary.
Over 1,000 cut voice lines from Resident Evil 4 and Requiem reveal more about Leon Kennedy, the zombies he fights, and a lowkey bromance We also got some hints to how later games are linked to Resident Evil 4. Resident Evil is one of those series which rewards nosey players. One goes through over 600 cut voice lines from the Resident Evil 4 remake, and the other explores nearly 400 cut voice lines from Resident Evil Requiem. 2026 games: All the upcoming games Best PC games: Our all-time favorites Free PC games: Freebie fest Best FPS games: Finest gunplay Best RPGs: Grand adventures Best co-op games: Better together Elie is a news writer with an unhealthy love of horror games—even though their greatest fear is being chased.

Hardly surprising given it looks almost exactly like Nintendo's best gaming handheld contender, but the latter half of the video loads up GTA: Vice City Stories for the PSP alongside Super Mario 64, Crazy Taxi on Dreamcast, the Sega Saturn RPG Shining Force III, and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for PS1. Dive into new DS handhelds Those of you who'd rather pick up a new portable now for DS games have a few options for under $100, including the MagicX Zero 40, a delightfully odd vertical handheld for $75.99 that makes use of a vertical display, and the existing Anbernic RG DS that's still around for around $88 and is similar to the upcoming Plus. The Anbernic RG DS Plus will apparently be available for under $100, whereas you're looking at $259 for a base Ayn Thor Lite model.
Half of France's premier FPS sibling duo just put out the most exhilarating parkour game I've ever played, and it's only $8 All movement, no shooter. Weird Weekend is our regular Saturday column where we celebrate PC gaming oddities: peculiar games, strange bits of trivia, forgotten history. Pop back every weekend to find out what Jeremy, Josh, Ted, and Rick have become obsessed with this time, whether it's the canon height of Thief's Garrett or that time someone in the Vatican pirated Football Manager. Even though it costs more than Straftat's hard-to-beat "free," at $8, Vholume is firmly a "no duh" purchase recommendation in my book.
Nintendo is hosting two Directs in the coming days, and it’s pretty much all I’ve been thinking about since the announcement. On Tuesday, September 8, it’s The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct, followed by a more general Nintendo Direct on Wednesday, September 9. Twilight Princess on Nintendo Switch Online Speaking of NSO, it bothers me more than it should that The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is the only 3D Zelda game that’s not playable in some form on Switch 2. Ultimate noticeably hasn’t received a Switch 2 performance patch like Super Mario Odyssey, the open-world Zeldas, and plenty of other best-selling Switch 1 games, and combined with the fact that a new Smash game almost always hits within the first two years of a new Nintendo console, it feels like a prime candidate for a Switch 2 Edition.” And, after spending the last year declaring it to be too soon for 3D Mario in the wake of Donkey Kong Bananza – another 3D mascot platformer from much of the same team as 3D Mario – I now think we’re entering the window where we could see the plumber show up any time.

Steam Week in Review: Here are the top 10 most popular genres on Steam All the interesting Steam facts for the week ending August 30. Baldur's Gate 3 is estimated to have made $1,795,480,003 since its early access launch in late 2020. Hidden Object games have a 5.4% hit rate, while 2D platformers have a 5.5% hit rate. Top Steam games by revenue (August 18 - 25) First of all, its worth noting that Star Wars Zero Company released on the 28th, and its review embargo lifted on the 26th, so next week's chart will better reflect its launch performance.
Star Wars Zero Company's permadeath makes it a better RPG than most RPGs, even though it's not really an RPG Choice and consequence vs. Welcome to Dungeon Master, PC Gamer's regular RPG column, where Online Editor Fraser Brown delves into PC gaming's most beloved and enduring genre. This week, Associate Editor Ted Litchfield has subbed in to trade iron short swords and goblins for blaster rifles and clone troopers When I first tried Star Wars Zero Company for preview, its rhythm reminded me quite a bit of Mass Effect 2: Walk around your home base, upgrade stuff, talk to people, select non-combat activities and missions from a galaxy map, and enter levels that feel "strictly business." Heavy on the combat, with minimal nonviolent gameplay. 2026 games: All the upcoming games Best PC games: Our all-time favorites Free PC games: Freebie fest Best FPS games: Finest gunplay Best RPGs: Grand adventures Best co-op games: Better together Ted has been thinking about PC games and bothering anyone who would listen with his thoughts on them ever since he booted up his sister's copy of Neverwinter Nights on the family computer.
All the key details about 'anime GTA' game Ananta Does whatever a (legally distinct) Spider(-Man) can. Ananta remained a mystery for many years, but it's finally got a solid 2027 release date. Ananta release date and (lack of) betas Ananta release date After years of no-showing at big events, it finally turned up to Gamescom's 2026 Opening Night Live to announce that Ananta is releasing on January 15, 2027 for PC, PS5, and mobile. Ananta gameplay details Our Ananta preview PC Gamer's Wes Fenlon went hands on with Ananta at Tokyo Game Show last year, and he thought that although Ananta is borrowing—or brazenly copying—a lot, that it "might have some wild-ass ideas of its own, too." He found the influences of the Batman Arkham games, Sleeping Dogs, Uncharted, and Spider-Man pretty clear, but they all worked well enough.
If you’d told me two years ago that Nintendo and FromSoftware would team up on an online PvPvE Switch 2 exclusive that’s also kind of a spiritual successor to Bloodborne, my first reaction would have been, “it’s called the Switch 2??” But jokes aside, I would’ve found this collaboration hard to believe. FromSoftware is one of the hottest devs on the planet right now, but its games rarely come to Nintendo platforms. Nintendo is publishing this game outside of Japan, and you can count all of the M-rated games the typically family-friendly company has ever published on basically two hands. Before I jumped into the network test, a coworker pointed out that The Duskbloods is basically Bloodborne mixed with Kirby Air Ride’s City Trial (or Super Smash Bros.
Steam Week in Review: A touch of AI is all it takes to trigger backlash, as a promising new indie falls afoul of slop skeptics All the interesting Steam facts for the week ending August 23 Vapor World: Over The Mind is a Soulslike Metroidvania with an evocative, painterly art style reminiscent of Lies of P and the narrative platformers of Playdead. According to Korean studio Alive Inc, the game had 100,000 wishlists just before its early access launch on August 19, mostly on the strength of a demo available since January 2025. The top 11-20 part of the list is arguably more interesting: Mortal Shell 2 debuted at number 12, Wardogs pre-orders catapulted it to number 13 (though its current beta is apparently blowing up, with an all-time concurrent players peak of 105,774), and the Lord of the Rings: War in the North reissue has sold decently enough to help it reach number 17. 10/10 Broken just like Morrowind" Skybob, on The Lantern of the Laughless Saint, who I'm sure is also relentlessly bunnyhopping to increase Acrobatics.
This is an IGN opinion piece from Charlie Lopresto, who believes that love can bloom, even on a battlefield. He first encountered Metal Gear Solid on a demo disc from Pizza Hut and has since completed three hundred missions in VR– the kind that’s indistinguishable from the real thing. Like Old Snake, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is a fossil. Prior to MGS4, we’d last seen Solid Snake in 2001, when he dropped a prophetic monologue and vanished into the streets of lower Manhattan shortly after the former President of the United States crashed into the city with a giant sci-fi submarine.
Earlier today, a new report claimed that PlayStation is planning a substantial rework of Horizon Hunters Gathering, responding to poor playtest feedback for the multiplayer spin-off by stripping the live-service elements in order to make it more of a traditional co-op game. That report also has some bad news for fans of the traditional Horizon games: Horizon 3 is apparently still years away. The "majority" of developers at Guerrilla Games are still working on Horizon Hunters Gathering, according to Jason Schreier at Bloomberg. Latest Videos FromGamesRadar+ Five years separated the launches of Horizon Zero Dawn in 2017 and Horizon Forbidden West in 2022, and it's looking like there might be an even longer wait before Horizon 3 rolls around.
Star Wars Zero Company takes place right at the end of The Clone Wars, my favorite period in Star Wars' huge timeline. That conflict begins with the Battle of Geonosis in Attack of the Clones and concludes with the deaths of the Separatist leaders in Revenge of the Sith, but a vast majority of the galaxy-spanning war is covered in the seven seasons of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. For example, Season 5, Episodes 17-20 is the Temple Bombing Arc, in which the Jedi Temple is bombed in a terrorist attack, and in a storyline that feels super 9/11-coded, both the government and the Jedi Council leap to assumptions, suspect and hastily imprison innocent people, and betray the trust of allies all in the name of catching the bomber. Which is why, if you've got the time and a Disney+ subscription, you should check out The Clone Wars (specifically Season 4, Episodes 7-10) before picking up Star Wars Zero Company.
What we've been playing - "My Switch 2 sits watching me from my desk like the Green Goblin mask" A few of the things that have us hooked this week. 15th August Hello and welcome back to our regular feature where we write a little about the games we've been playing. This week, we all melt into puddles by our computers, but Dom also devotes themself to the new Fire Emblem; Connor gets enthusiastic about new fighting game on the block, Marvel Tōkon; Chris can't stop thinking about the Star Wars XCOM-like game he played; and Bertie organises a Eurogamer community hike. Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, Switch 2 As you can probably tell from my preview, I have been playing nothing but Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave this week.
