The game launched to stellar review scores and is currently sitting in Metacritic's top 15 games of 2026 with a score of 88 .

He says that while Japanese culture focuses on physical media, the rising global popularity of PC gaming means the company needs to emphasize improving its digital releases. In an interview with Famitsu, that's been translated by GamesRadar+, Utsumi talks about how Sega is approaching what could potentially be an all digital future. "With regards to what we call 'full games' on both console and PC, we think the shift towards digital titles is key," he says.
