Disney is reportedly worried about fan reaction to The Mandalorian and Grogu, but thinks Star Wars: Starfighter "is more likely to satisfy" We're ready for both Weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more You are now subscribed Your newsletter sign-up was successful Want to add more newsletters? A new report states that Disney thinks Shawn Levy's Star Wars: Starfighter will go over better with audiences than Jon Favreau's The Mandalorian and Grogu. Per Variety, The Mandalorian and Grogu is "something of a question mark" for The Mouse, and that it "may not seem like a big-screen proposition for any but the most die-hard Baby Yoda lovers." The report also mentions the largely negative reaction to the film's first trailer, which was strange in tone, among other things... Per the official tagline, the New Republic enlists Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his unbearably cute, tiny, and green apprentice Grogu following "the fall of the Galactic Empire, during a period where remaining Imperial warlords threaten the galaxy." Much like the report posits...
Resident Evil Requiem PC performance analysis: Great visuals and decent frame rates all round, though path tracing's an obvious frame rate killer Upscaling is a bit of a must-use, but that's a given these days. Test PC specs - Asus ROG Ally, 15 W + 6 GB VRAM modes - Ryzen 7 7735HS (54 W), 16 GB DDR5-4800, GeForce RTX 4050 - Core i7 9700K (65 W), 16 GB DDR4-3200, Radeon RX 5700 XT - Ryzen 7 5700X3D (105 W), 32 GB DDR4-3200, GeForce RTX 3060 Ti - Core Ultra 9 285K (125 W), 48 GB DDR5-8400, Radeon RX 7900 XT - Ryzen 9 9950X3D (170 W), 32 GB DDR5-6000, GeForce RTX 5090 - Monitors: Acer Nitro XV282K KV / MSI MPG 321URX - Operating System: Windows 11 25H2 - Drivers: Adrenalin Edition 26.1.1 / GeForce Game Ready 591.86 To examine what kind of performance you can expect to get on your gaming PC with Resident Evil Requiem, I used as broad a range of systems as I could. Handheld gaming PC 720p Lowest preset | No ray tracing (RT) | FSR Balanced upscaling Our first port of call is a handheld gaming PC, specifically the Asus ROG Ally, with its power set to 15 W but with the GPU VRAM forced to 6 GB, instead of the default 4 GB. Minimum spec gaming PC 1080p Normal preset | No RT | FSR Balanced upscaling Okay, so a combination of an Intel Core i7 9700K and AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT isn't quite as min-spec as Capcom's minimum system requirements, but the CPU and GPU are almost eight and seven years old, respectively.
Our Verdict Resident Evil Requiem sets itself out with a hard task: wrapping all the best elements of previous Resident Evil games into one. RTX 5060 | from $339.99 at Amazon RTX 5070 | from $629.99 at Best Buy Yes, I review the best graphics cards, but I wasn't really gunning to play Resident Evil Requiem with blistering specs. Naturally, if you want to play Capcom's latest eerie escapade, you'll need to leverage fps boosting tools like DLSS 4.5 and Multi-Frame Generation, and the game does demonstrate why you'd want to crank the settings up On average, I was hitting around 200fps at 4K ultra settings with Path Tracing on using Multi-Frame Generation x4.
I applaud this gacha game for ditching anime characters for puppets, but it still can't escape the pitfalls of a post-Genshin Impact world I want to live in a world where Sea of Remnants is just an RPG with no caveats. Edmund McMillen on assembling Mewgenics' meow cameo list: "the inclusion of people with clashing ideologies felt appropriate" "I understand we live in a time where a meow from someone who has different beliefs as you is scary and frustrating, confusing and controversial" Edmund McMillen and Tyler Glaiel's cat breeding roguelike Mewgenics came out earlier this week to an overwhelmingly positive reception and plenty of early success. Want to play Pokémon Pokopia early? You'll get an opportunity to check out a demo if you're in London this weekend From competing to chilling. Pokémon Pokopia, the "cozy life sim" spinoff releasing on Nintendo Switch 2 on 5th March, has quickly become one of the most anticipated launches of early 2026. Nintendo has seen the timing of this year's EUIC (13th February to 15th February) as the perfect opportunity to show off Pokopia and allow people to go hands-on with it, and it's hard to argue against the decision.
Can Build A Rocket Boy save itself? As the company installs monitoring software to root out "saboteurs" while attempting a "reset" for troubled debut MindsEye, insiders tell of long-running problems The latest twist in the MindsEye story came last week when staff at the Edinburgh-based studio discovered that the company had installed surveillance software on their PCs without their knowledge. According to Slack messages seen by GamesIndustry.biz, workers at the studio discovered that management had installed monitoring software called Teramind on their machines. Although the Rockstar veteran was very successful in attracting investment for the studio on the back of his previous track record – including a $110 million cash injection at the start of 2024 – staff say that he struggled to delegate responsibility and appeared to lack clarity in the vision for the game.
Discord have announced that beginning in March, they're starting a global rollout of forced age verification to access all features of the platform. Announced in an official blog post today, the Discord team noted that all accounts will end up as teens by default, with various restrictions in place, unless you go through manual age verification processes. The Steam Machine is still "on track" for its original release window, according to Valve’s chosen chipmakers When is "early" 2026, anyway Update: I am never writing a news post again. Valve’s upcoming Steam Machine reboot might not be as troubled by ongoing memory shortages as previously feared. As spotted by VideoCardz, AMD – who provide the custom processor nestled within the Steam Machine’s matte black walls – recently held a quarterly earnings call, in which CEO Dr. Lisa Su declared Valve to be "on track to begin shipping its AMD-powered Steam Machine early this year." While still vague, that’s in line with Valve’s originally announced "early 2026" release window, suggesting that soaring RAM and SSD prices haven’t pushed the new Machine back by much, if at all.
