Grand Theft Auto represents the pinnacle of AAA games, not just in huge-scale production values, but in the kind of innovation that rewrites the rules for what games can even be. It seems only Rockstar is capable of fully nailing this style of game. Watch Dogs 2 (2016) Watch Dogs 2 Ubisoft may already specialize in open-world games like Assassin's Creed and Far Cry, but Watch Dogs' contemporary urban setting puts it firmly in the category of GTA clone, though its hacking mechanics also set it apart.
Modern Warfare 4 arrives at a strange time for the Call of Duty series. Despite being a solid multiplayer shooter, 2025’s Black Ops 7 became the franchise’s lowest-selling game since 2008’s World at War in the US. Activision itself recently admitted that following up 2024’s Black Ops 6 with another Black Ops, after doing the same with Modern Warfare 2 and 3, didn’t offer the variety that fans wanted. Verdict Modern Warfare 4 stands alongside Black Ops 6 and Modern Warfare 2 (2009) as one of the most complete Call of Duty titles to date.
