For context, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo 64 shipped on a 32MB cartridge, meaning the 2026 remake is over 800 times larger than the original version in 1998. Obviously, we live in the era of 200GB Call of Duty downloads, and given that two parts of fellow 90's remake Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth are the biggest games on Switch 2 at 90.4GB and 91.5GB respectively, it's a reasonably low file size for the new Zelda remake, which is a welcome surprise. Breath of the Wild Nintendo Switch 2 Edition was the previous record holder at 24GB, with Tears of the Kingdom Nintendo Switch 2 Edition at only 20GB, while the Link's Awakening remake and Echoes of Wisdom both land within the 5GB range.
Following on from the Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary Nintendo Direct, which gave us a look at the Ocarina of Time remake, Nintendo has now revealed even more games coming to the Switch 2 this winter. The Nintendo Direct aired on September 9, 2026, showing off everything from Metroid Ravenous to a new Switch Sports Resort and the first fully open-world Kirby title. There’s a lot of exciting annoucements to cover, so if you missed the Direct or just want a recap of all the biggest reveals, we have you covered: All games announced at Nintendo Direct September 2026 Monster Hunter Wilds Back in June, Capcom confirmed Monster Hunter Wilds was coming to Switch 2, months after the game had already settled onto PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog first unveiled Legacy of Atlantis at The Game Awards this past December and pitched it as a ground-up reimagining of the original 1996 Tomb Raider, complete with Unreal Engine 5 visuals and Alix Wilton Regan taking over as Lara Croft.
Me: You can now run DLSS 5 on AMD GPUs. My RX 9070 XT: Please stop, it hurts us A new app allows you to inject DLSS Neural Rendering deep into games even if you're running an AMD card. Now, we know that DLSS 5 is a hell of a resource hog on an RTX 50-series GPU that it's designed for, with a touted 50 - 60% performance hit officially noted by Nvidia, so I should have known it would trouble the AMD GPU. Best high-end: Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 Dave has been gaming since the days of Zaxxon and Lady Bug on the Colecovision, and code books for the Commodore Vic 20 (Death Race 2000!).
DLSS 5 can be jammed into almost any game now, so I've been playing FM26 with neural rendered little computer people because that's just what I do And here's how I did it. Ever since the Control mod appeared I've been enjoying jamming the released DLSS 5 .dll files into a bunch of different games, to greater or lesser effect. Running the Control mod on an RTX 5090 I was seeing DLSS Balanced 4K Ultra Ray Tracing running at around 110 fps in standard mode, which then dropped to under 50 fps as soon as DLSS 5 was brought to bear on the game, which is about where Nvidia is pitching the performance hit.
