PlatinumGames boss Atsushi Inaba says the famed action studio wants to make more Bayonetta projects in the future, despite the fact that many of the series' lead developers have moved on. Bayonetta was an iconic release in the genre during the Xbox 360 and PS3 generation, and the monster-spanking witch only solidified her place among the action greats with two direct sequels and a spin-off prequel exclusively on Nintendo consoles - not to mention her many appearances in other games, from Super Smash Bros Ultimate to Stellar Blade. 2023's Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon might not be where things end, however. Abebe Tinari (Bayonetta Origins), Yusuke Miyata (Bayonetta 3), Takahisa Taura (Astral Chain), and Kenji Saito (Metal Gear Rising) are among some of the other big names no longer at the studio.

I’ve been hearing a lot of hype around Stellar Blade - that is when fans haven’t been lamenting the sequel’s awful AI music video the creators decided was a good idea. I’d heard it was Bayonetta meets Dark Souls , with flashy, acrobatic movement, and carefully considered combat with tight timings. And considering it’s coming to Switch 2 and utilising new technology for the platform in the form of FSR frame generation, I thought we were going to be in for a grand old time.
