Star Wars Zero Company gets much-needed first patch so you won't miss shots with a 100% chance to hit any more It should be less prone to crashing too. The main thing preventing me from playing Star Wars Zero Company in its iron man "beskar" mode is cowardice, but the second thing preventing me from doing that has been the state of the game at launch. I've had it crash on me a few times, and the thought of my one and only run being lost because of a mid-save crash is enough to keep me playing with iron man off—even if Zero Company is much easier than XCOM and actually losing seems unlikely. Fortunately, a 1.1 patch is here, and the first patch note is "Fixed various crash issues." Following that, "Fixed an issue where Beskar saves were temporarily deleted" and "Fixed a crash issue for Beskar mode." There's also a fix for "an issue where shots can be missed, even when the chance to hit is 100%." I've been assuming that ZCOM was rounding up the numbers and actually I'd been missing 97% chance shots the several times I completely whiffed a point-blank sure thing in my playthrough, so it'll be nice to actually land those attacks instead.

Rampant online hate against Halo: Campaign Evolved is overblown, according to Marcus Lehto, the series' co-creator and father of Master Chief himself, who's having a real good time with the new remake despite a few wrinkles here and there. Halo: Campaign Evolved launched late last month, and it's since been subject to some pretty mindless discourse on social media. For a gorgeous remake of an already iconic game, you might not expect to see so many posts complaining about everything from recycled reload animations to a literal rainbow lens flare, because that obviously does irreparable harm to a game. "I learnt a tonne about enamel pin manufacturing" – Brigador developer Stellar Jockeys on the secrets of selling video game merchandise Studio head Hugh Monahan tells us why T-shirts and posters are a bad idea, why pins are a solid bet, and why it's a bad time to be selling lighters internationally Since the indie boom of the 2010s, one piece of advice commonly given to smaller studios has been the value of merchandise. The logic broadly goes as follows: game development is a risky business, and even if your game is a success, it's not uncommon for the studio to still struggle financially. "Some of our merch packs are between $25 and $35, but our first game, which took ages to make, can be bought on sale for $5." The lesson: people will happily pay more money for "a physical, tangible thing." Legislative battles Selling merchandise hasn't been entirely smooth sailing, with lessons learned about what type of product will sell and how exactly it should be brought to market. "I would rather spend $10,000 making some cool merch and selling it, even if we're not making a profit off of it between the labour and cost of goods, because [it results in] a cool piece that someone has on their desk.
