You may have heard yesterday that the Phasmophobia developer is publishing the next game from Her Story and Immortality's Sam Barlow (who's roped in Brandon Cronenberg this time around). That's not all that was announced however, as there's a bevy of other, not even scary at all, actually, games that are coming up from the new publisher.
Including the follow-up to Her Story and Immortality. Last night treated us to the first ever Kinetic Publishing Showcase, and all five games in the broadcast were actually confirmed for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S as part of it, along with Xbox Play Anywhere support for all of them. The highlight here was PRECOGNITION , which is the follow-up to the amazing Her Story and Immortality games from Sam Barlow (the latter of which we gave an "Outstanding" 10/10 to here at Pure Xbox in 2022). Kinetic Publishing and Electric Saint have announced Crescent County , a cosy adventure that sees you make deliveries during the day and take part in races during the night, all on awesome sci-fi inspired 'motorbrooms'. Boasting some lovely, colourful visuals, Crescent County has been confirmed for PC and consoles and will launch in Summer 2027. Immortality creator Sam Barlow reveals his next game: A 'sci-fi horror' collaboration with Brandon Cronenberg Precognition promises to "follow in the footsteps of Immorality" with a tale of visions of the future, and why they're not always great. Back in 2024, Immortality creator Sam Barlow teased a new thing codenamed Project C. During today's Kinetic Publishing Showcase, it was finally unveiled as Precognition, a sci-fi thriller being developed in a collaboration between Barlow's Half Mermaid Productions and horror director (and son of David) Brandon Cronenberg. That sets a very high bar to clear: Immortality earned a nearly unheard-of 95% score in our review as "Sam Barlow's best, most thought-provoking game yet." Score aside, that accolade itself is no small feat given that its predecessors, Telling Lies and Her Story, are genuine bangers themselves.

Originally teased as 'Project C', Precognition follows in the footsteps of Immortality by presenting a non-linear FMV story in which you follow Diana, a woman who is able to view visions of the future after an experimental implant is embedded into her brain. You'll have to explore these visions and commit specific moments to Diana's memory in the present day, thus potentially altering the future.

The Kinetic Publishing Showcase will be narrated by Ben Starr, known for his roles in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Final Fantasy 16, and produced by DoubleJump. It will confirm release windows and platform details for a first wave of titles ahead of launches planned for 2027 and 2028.
