Our Verdict The G5 Max is a lightweight, comfortable gaming headset with truly stellar battery life, and for that it should be commended. While it can be tweaked, it's still a fiddly, slightly cheap-feeling beast that doesn't justify its $150 price tag. For - 305-hour battery life - Light and comfortable - Detailed drivers - Bluetooth 6.0 support Against - Boxy sound profile - Disappointing microphones - Dreadful EQ presets - Too pricey PC Gamer's got your back In the world of wireless gaming headsets, there's one spec that draws me in like a moth to a flame: battery life. Edifier G5 Max value A $150 MSRP aims this headset squarely at one of the biggest hitters in the space, the Razer BlackShark V3.

"So, the real challenge was—for me at least—while designing things was to try to find everything that would appease the fans of the game while also being options that would be interesting to D&D players and try to cram as many of those into this book as possible." 2026 games: All the upcoming games Best PC games: Our all-time favorites Free PC games: Freebie fest Best FPS games: Finest gunplay Best RPGs: Grand adventures Best co-op games: Better together Tyler has covered videogames and PC hardware for 15 years. How Pantaloon is curating an "evolving library of bold and bizarre games" with its new subscription service Co-founder Jamin Smith explores how the Playbill is "another mad experiment in a series of mad experiments that have – so far – not sunk the business" Over recent years, more and more companies have moved away from the traditional publishing model and set their sights on indie curation. Partly funded by a $150k investment announced earlier this year, the Playbill launches with 14 titles plus Pantaloon's original games. We want to keep our selection more lean in the service of our community being in step with each other." Launch lineup The Playbill's full launch lineup includes: Buckshot Roulette (Critical Reflex, Mike Klubnika), Silt (Fireshine, Spiral Circus Games), Ex Sanguis (Firesquid, Lightbulb Crew), Death Crown (5WORD Team), Kids (Playables), Four Last Things (Akupara Games, Joe Richardson), and Cabin Factory (Future Friends Games, International Cat Studios) Devolver's Virtue: Prologue (Juno Menager, Deconstructeam, Selkie Harbour) will be a timed-exclusive at launch, a visual novella companion piece to the upcoming Virtue and a Sledgehammer, releasing on October 27. Our own titles will sit in the service indefinitely, too." The full roster of games is available through a 'Primo' subscription ($4.99/£3.99 monthly, or $49.99/£39.99 annually).

The venture sits under Mattel Digital Studios, and its creation follows the February announcement that Mattel had acquired 100% of Mattel163, a joint venture that was established by Mattel and Chinese games firm NetEase back in 2018. Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, Marcus Liassides, SVP and global head of Mattel Digital Studios, says the firm's new Games Studios arm "reflects the evolution" its digital games business has undergone. "Whether it's an existing game like Phase 10, the recently announced self-published titles like Uno Wild and an upcoming Hot Wheels experience, or partnerships on licensed games like Hot Wheels Infinite Rush and Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction, we're building a broad portfolio that reflects how people engage with games today.

Poll 100 people on the scariest game they've ever played. Morin remembered potential partners telling him that they'd "rather invest $50,000 in 10 mobile games than $500,000 in [Outlast]." Ultimately, the Canada Media Fund (CMF), a publicly funded investment program meant to support homegrown media projects across Canada, helped bring Outlast to fruition. We were in a sprint to release the game before running out of money." Morin remembered potential partners telling him that they'd "rather invest $50,000 in 10 mobile games than $500,000 in [Outlast]." No publisher materialized, but the work continued, and eventually the team felt it could get the game to the finish line without an outside publisher, so Red Barrels did exactly that, though Morin admitted the team had no experience with that side of making video games. Once you have people coming for the food, then you can maybe hope to sell them $200 bottles of wine." South Australian government makes largest investment in game development by doubling its Digital Games Fund to $1m This year's DGF offers three funding streams to support all stages of game production to boost local game development The South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC) has doubled its Digital Games Fund (DGF) funding to $1 million to support local developers. Following the success of its inaugural round last October, which distributed $500,000 among 11 studios, this year's DGF represents the South Australian government's largest single investment in game development. The DGF now offers three funding streams: up to $30,000 for pre-production, prototype development, proof of concept, early design and market testing; up to $150,000 for production as projects move toward commercial release; and up to $50,000 for post-release activities such as localisation, porting, and related work. SAFC stated that the DGF and Studio Placement Program provide studios and developers with a pathway to the existing SA Video Game Development (VGD) Rebate, "which backs larger-scale games through a 10% rebate claimable on eligible projects within a minimum SA spend of $250,000." The VGD Rebate launched in 2020 and has since supported the production of over 40 games from South Australia.
