Polyarc, the studio behind the Moss series of VR platformers, has announced it is shutting down, three months on from releasing its latest game on Steam. "After nearly 12 years riding the joyous rollercoaster of emotions that is making video games, our time together has come to an end," the studio posted on LinkedIn (via IGN). "As we wind down active development, we are saying our farewells to each other." Founded in 2015, Polyarc made its video game debut three years later with Moss (now known as Moss: VR). Thank you to everyone at Polyarc, our work is now finished." As Polyarc winds down, all the Moss games (except Glassbreakers) are currently on sale, with The Forgotten Relic at 20% off, and the VR versions of Moss and Moss 2 at half-price.
"As more people play games, even the tiniest niches find a bigger audience" – Why Matt Webster is convinced people want Star Wars: Galactic Racer The Fuse Games CEO on reinventing racing games, young talent beating veterans, and an overdue move away from the "bullshit" idea of a "single creative visionary" Matt Webster looked set to be a lifer at Electronic Arts. He joined the firm way back in 1990, and spent nearly two decades working at Burnout and Need for Speed maker Criterion, which EA bought in 2004. But in early 2023, along with Criterion alumni Steve Uphill, Pete Lake, Andrei Shires, and Alan McDairmant, he broke away to form the independent UK studio Fuse Games. Galactic Racer is launching on October 6, a generous distance from GTA6's due date of November 19, although not too far after some of the year's biggest releases, like Control Resonant and Silent Hill: Townfall on September 24.
