Coinciding with the 30th anniversary of Diablo, Diablo 4's 15th season, Season of Hell's Legacy, is a fitting celebration of the action RPG series' entire history, going all the way back to the very first game from 1996. Whenever Diablo 4 was the talking topic, Blizzard waxed nostalgic for beloved games like Diablo 1 and 2, and to a slightly lesser degree, Diablo 3, whereas Diablo 5 conversations were naturally more forward-focused. During a panel attended by GamesRadar+, seasons lead Owen Leach dropped an absolute nostalgia bomb on old Diablo heads, teasing a Diablo 4-style return to the original Diablo 1 campaign via a new activity in Season of Hell's Legacy. Latest Videos FromGamesRadar+ "The last one, and the one I'm probably the most excited about, is actually a recreation of almost all of Diablo 1, so you start in Tristram Cathedral, fight your way to the Catacombs, down to the caves, and then of course into Hell itself to take down Big Red, the Dark Lord, Lord of Terror, Diablo." There is some earned controversy over Blizzard announcing the end of Diablo 4 expansions in favor of Diablo 5, but if future seasons are anywhere near as substantial as what's being teased for season 15, I think I'll be plenty satisfied for the next few years.
If you walked away from the StarCraft reveal excited for the franchise to return, but unsure what this new game even is, you're not alone. Aside from being described during the BlizzCon Opening Ceremony as an open-world shooter, Blizzard didn't share much else. In an interview with GameSpot, Blizzard GM Dan Hay provided a few more details, including the fact that it's a third-person game. "That doesn't mean that we don't have the license to, in a couple of spaces, do a little bit different and whatnot, but third-person: You get to see your armor, you get to see the full weight of everything you have, and then you get to see stuff that's in my head that I can't tell you." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIu2tGCCKQw&pp=0gcJCf4LAYcqIYzv Hay spoke to us a great deal about the fantasy of having this armor to protect you.
Discussing 20 years of Company of Heroes with the team carrying its torch into the future "I'm really pleased that we're here, able to support the games, and able to celebrate this 20th anniversary." I still remember the PC Gamer cover from October 2006 featuring Company of Heroes as the vanguard of the "RTS Revolution." This was back in the day that I would walk down to the local grocery store to grab each new physical issue off of the news stand. I was already failing trigonometry. After the announcement that Dawn of War 4 was being developed by German studio King Art Games—I was later told Relic passed on it as they simply didn't have the bandwidth to take it on alongside other ongoing projects, mostly related to Company of Heroes—I was wondering if there even would be a Relic anymore. But in the meantime, they have split from Sega and become independent again. 2026 games: All the upcoming games Best PC games: Our all-time favorites Free PC games: Freebie fest Best FPS games: Finest gunplay Best RPGs: Grand adventures Best co-op games: Better together Leana Hafer is a freelancer and lifelong PC gamer with a specialty in strategy, RPGs, horror, and survival games.
Diablo 4's new season brings back Deckard Cain and all three Prime Evils as the game arrives on Switch 2 Citizen Cain. Diablo 4's next season, Season of Hell's Legacy, will go live on 15th September to celebrate the franchise's 30th anniversary and Nintendo Switch 2 debut. At BlizzCon's opening ceremony, developer Blizzard said the season will be a tribute to three decades of Diablo, built around the return of Deckard Cain and a rematch against all three original Prime Evils: Diablo, Baal, and Mephisto. Cain's spirit returns to warn players that echoes of the three Prime Evils have resurfaced.

Marvel's Wolverine | Critical consensus Critics agree that the characters of Marvel's Wolverine are its "stronget asset," but that doesn't outweigh issues with repetitive combat and dated gameplay mechanics Insomniac Games' take on Wolverine has had an eventful route to market. Announced in 2021, Marvel's Wolverine was among several Insomniac titles affected by a 2023 data breach involving 1.67 TB of internal information. Three years later, it launches as a first-party Playstation exclusive following a run of controversial decisions by the company, including the discontinuation of physical disc production in 2018 and the company's separation from Hideo Kojima and the Physint project. Stuart compared it unfavourably to Insomniac's Spider-Man games, noting that "the character's grace, his web-throwing, the three-dimensional nature of his movement, all encourage you to fight beautifully; here I was reminded of 80s beat-'em-ups, or PS3 brawlers – a bludgeoning production line of identical fights against increasingly over-familiar enemy types." Eurogamer's Chris Tapsell, who also rated the game 3/5, said the overall gameplay had "little to no invention throughout," but it was most noticeable in the combat, "which really has to be the backbone of a linear action game like this, let alone a Wolverine one." "There's all the inherent satisfaction of a good parry-counter, of leaping around fully in character as this unleashed beast, of enacting righteous vengeance on your foes.
Marvel's Wolverine reviews have officially gone live, and while the overall consensus isn't terrible, it's not another critical hit for Spider-Man studio Insomniac Games. On GameSpot's sister site Metacritic, Marvel's Wolverine currently has a metascore of 77 from 102 reviews, with many reviewers pointing out that it doesn't live up to the standard of superhero games that Insomniac has defined with its Spider-Man adventures. Marvel Rivals If you're not ready to drop $70 on Marvel's Wolverine just yet, then you can check out Marvel Rivals for the low price of nothing instead. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order Another option for the Wolverine connoisseur who's more focused on beat-'em-up gameplay than anything else, Marvel’s Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order for Switch is a solid pick.
Wardogs has already surpassed a million copies sold and is lighting up Steam's concurrent player charts. Earlier today, developer Bulkhead launched its brand new all-out warfare FPS, Wardogs. The game has been one of the more highly anticipated shooters of this year and players are showing up for it in force. According to the developer, the game has already surpassed a million copies sold, and SteamDB shows that the game has over 300,000 concurrent players.
A few hours into Wolverine I found myself asking, “Why did Insomniac Games make this?” There are obvious answers, of course: It has three excellent Spider-Man games under its belt; it's an opportunity to expand its Marvel Universe; and Wolverine presents ample opportunities for a brutal and bloody action game. But none of that explains why Insomniac Games , specifically, made Wolverine. Spider-Man is an ideal fit for the studio: an energetic and dynamic hero in the hands of a team known for open-worlds that are sprawling jungle gyms, where it can let players loose with thrilling traversal mechanics and varied combat systems for crime fighting fun. Insomniac also excels at crafting narratives that are as earnest as they are dramatic--perfect for the tumultuous lives of Peter Parker and Miles Morales.
In many of the best JRPGs, there's a point in the last third(ish) of the story where everything opens up. You can fully indulge in its systems, characters, and world. You can freely explore the map, complete all the side quests, find the super special ultimate weapons, and challenge every secret boss before saving the world. The Best Real-Time ATB Combat Yet Final Fantasy VII Remake took the Kingdom Hearts combat formula and married it with the stagger mechanic from Final Fantasy XIII, creating wonderfully addictive and constantly engaging system.
Overcooked team returns with a first proper look at its adorably spooky co-op adventure Stage Fright, and it's out next year No Man's Sky studio publishing. Cast your mind back to December 2024, and you might remember a fun little tease for Overcooked studio Ghost Town Games' intriguing - and adorably spooky - co-op adventure Stage Fright. Closing in on two years later, the studio is back with some first proper gameplay ahead of its arrival next year. Nintendo showed roughly 20 minutes of footage from the Switch 2 remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time in the Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct this morning. Producer Eiji Aonuma said this project is largely a faithful remake of the N64 classic, reborn on Switch 2 with modern controls and a strong focus on detail. Here are 40 changes I saw when comparing Ocarina of Time on Switch 2 to the N64 version, from things as large as the art style all the way to small menu changes and UI differences. A Special Edition Console and Controller On October 29, one week before Ocarina of Time's launch on November 5, Nintendo is releasing the first special edition Switch 2 console themed around The Legend of Zelda's 40th anniversary.
Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail's final story patch is exactly what the game needed, and has the 4-month wait for Evercold suddenly feeling a whole lot longer Setting the stage to perfection. The reception to Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail's story has been as much of a journey as the expansion itself. It was never going to be easy, being the first expansion to build a brand-new arc following a decade of excellent storytelling, and unfortunately it didn't quite land initially. Criticisms around its core narrative have largely abated over the last few patches, though, as we near the next expansion Evercold in January.
